Orpheus Men

"I am a self-taught British artist based in London. I try to capture real life experience of fetish. These encounters more often happen in anonymous hotel rooms or domestic settings rather than in the dungeons and industrial settings of fantasy. I am also interested in the relationships of power between subs and tops and between observer and observed. These are often more complex than people like to admit. I like including masks and mirrors in my works to create a feeling of detachment and ambiguity in the picture space. I use classical oil painting techniques and materials. My biggest influences are Vermeer’s interiors, and Walter Sickert’s Camden Town murders."
